Chloe's New Do

Little Chloe got her summer hair cut this week. Poor little thing, we let her get in bad shape. She couldn't see for all the hair in her face and she was so matted and hot. Above is a before picture that we took at the begining of the month (she's the one that looks like a cute little teddy bear in Ben's arms.) Here is what she looks like now... I know you are going to laugh. You can tell by the look on her face that she knows she looks silly.
We can't stop laughing at how skinny her feet and legs are... she's got her uncle Brandon's chicken legs! We know she is just not as cute without her hair, but we know she's got to feel better. And yes, that is a puff ball on her tail, it's gone as soon as we get clippers!

Weekend Getaway- Nashville, IN

Ben and I have been apart for to long with the SBC and Camp so we decided to take a little retreat of our own. We left yesterday afternoon and went to a little town about two hours from Taylorsville called Nashville, IN. It was a quaint little town with several B&B's and shops, and English gardens everywhere (Grandmama, you would have LOVED it!). We certainly feel relaxed and refreshed and ready for the busy weeks ahead. Here are some pictures from our trip:

Nathan had a race yesterday in Louisville we went to watch and had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of our day:

What have we learned today... Having a 2 year old makes us tired! We were so glad that that Nathan came to visit us, he was such a huge help with Carson.

Yummy Cupcake!

We survived our first day with a two year old! We woke up and Carson helped me make chocolate chip muffins. We ran some errands and had grilled cheese (cheese quesadilla from Q-doba) for lunch. Then Nathan came over and we had hush puppies (salmon patties) and macaroni for dinner. So what have we learned... if you want to get a 2 year old to eat you have to change the names of food to make it sound more appealing. One name we sure didn't have to change is CUPCAKE. As you can see from the pictures he could not get it in his mouth fast enough. It sure was the funniest thing that I have see in a while (sorry for the low picture quality, we forgot the camera and had to use the cell phone).

Southern Baptist Convention

Ben is on his way home from the Southern Baptist Convention in San Antonio, TX. He's had a good week, seen some big time guys in the convention, visited the Alamo, heard debates, voted on issues and reports that he is ready to be home. When I last spoke to him he was a couple of hours outside of Nashville and said it felt like home to be in Tennessee (even though we now live in KY). I look forward to having him home and spending a few days with him before he heads off to camp next week. Please pray for his safe return home and for the youth who will be going to camp.

I should have some exciting posts coming up... adventures of LaLa (Laura) and a two year old named Carson. I'll let you know who my 5 days with him go (complete with cute pictures I'm sure!)
